This position is primarily responsible for the oversight and guidance of all Human Resource Department functions including, but not limited to, policy/procedure/process administration and enforcement of equal employment opportunity, legal compliance; employee relations and grievance programs; recruitment, disciplinary action and termination; employee and management development, training, orientation, benefits.
• Collaborate with the CEO and the leadership team in the development of a healthy company culture that emphasizes quality, collaboration and continuous improvement as we strive to maintain and exceed its status as a high-performing medical group.
• Develop organization strategies by identifying human resource issues. Contribute information, analysis and recommendations to organization. Employ required strategic thinking and direction through HR analytics. Establish and execute human resources objectives in alignment with organizational objectives.
• Implement human resource strategies by establishing department accountabilities, including performance management, talent acquisition and management, staffing, employment processing, compensation package preparation, health and welfare benefits implementation, training and development, records management, succession planning, employee relations and retention, AA/EEO compliance and labor relations.
• Manage human resource operations in a group practice model of healthcare through experienced healthcare recruiting, selecting, orienting and diverse training, coaching, counseling and disciplining staff. Must have extensive healthcare experience in identifying, compensating and managing healthcare talent.
• Plan, guide, evaluate, monitor, and review staff contributions; must be able to do the work in order to provide the needed support and direction; resolve problems and help to implement change, when needed.
• Develop human resource operations financial strategies, under the supervision of the Finance department, by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends and variances; Budget monetary resources in development of action plans; Measure and analyze results plans implemented and initiate corrective actions; Minimize the impact of variances. Maintain compensation records and employment statistics for analysis of financial matters, including PTO, salary disparities, compensation negotiations and other complex matters relating to HR assigned by the CEO and CAO.
• Support leadership and management by providing exceptional human resource advice, counsel, and decisions to preserve the integrity of the organization; effectively analyze information and applications and provide accurate feedback.
• Guide management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods and guidelines while communicating and enforcing organization values.
• Must be skilled in healthcare position analysis as required for selecting, training, evaluating and compensating employees. The HR Director will work with leadership and managers in conducting job analyses of various healthcare positions and shall make recommendations for improvements. Accurate positional information of each job is mandatory to effectively administer the operations of a healthcare organization.
• Ensure all employee terminations are conducted in a fair and appropriate manner to comply with applicable laws and regulations and minimize liability to the company.
• Comply with all federal, state and local legal requirements applicable to company HR functioning. Initiate changes to existing policies or creation of new policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations. Keep up to date on existing and new legislation. Monitor and enforce HR compliance policies and procedures. Advise management team and staff on policies and procedures necessary for HR compliance.
Requirements:
• Education and Experience: BA/BS required; MA preferred.
• Professional Human Resources Certification (PHR) preferred.
• Must have a strong background and firm understanding of healthcare, specifically the group practice model of business; must be skilled in strategic HR leadership.
• Must have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in leading and managing a multi-staffed human resource department in a healthcare organization and 10+ years of solid and stable HR experience.
• Five years of supervisory experience required.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.
• Computer Skills: Knowledge of word-processing software, spreadsheet software; Internet software and database software (UltiPro).
• Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises assigned staff. Is responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
